5 Years

I passed my 5 year anniversary at S-Mart without so much as a damn word. I don't need a medal or anything like that but a "thanks" would go a hell of a long way.

I'm starting to feel invisible there.

That is ok. I got payed about 4 weeks after I left target. I didn't remember getting up in the middle of the night and going to work. It was only for like $8 and I figured it was their fault so I didn't say anything. Also, a week or so before that someone from target called looking for me and wondering why I hadn't come in to work. That is showing love for your employees.

Sam, not to one up you or anything, but a few years ago I took a short leave of absence to have heart surgery and then recuperate (this was of course breifly following the incident where I left work in the back of an ambulance) from that surgery. Although it was a short recovery period, I was supposed to be avoiding stress. So who called me to come into work--for day shifsts no less--every fucking day? Oh yeah, S-mart doesn't give a crap about their employees. Maybe that's something most people can blow off, but considering everything that was going on in my life at the time that was literally the last aggrivation I needed. One time I told the operator I had just had heart surgery and wasn't going to be at work for a few weeks and all they said was "oh... so when will you be able to cover some shifts?"

Actually, I suspect they kept it on the DL precisely because the *DO* value you. See, they're afraid to rub in your face how long they've been riding your ass for fear you'd get motivated to be someone else's bitch. ;-)
